Do a Barrel Roll Mod, Games, and Other Variations
"Do a Barrel Roll" is the name of several different things. The best known is Google's screen-spin Easter egg. There's also a popular Minecraft mod that changes elytra flight, plus games, music, and fan projects that borrow the same Star Fox 64 line. This page helps you find the one you want.

Why So Many Things Share This Name
Few game quotes are as famous as "do a barrel roll." That fame is exactly why so many projects use it. Game makers, modders, musicians, and fan sites all borrowed the line, so a single search can turn up very different results.
Every one of these projects traces back to the same moment. In Star Fox 64, the 1997 Nintendo 64 game, Peppy Hare tells the player to "do a barrel roll" to dodge enemy fire. The line became a meme, then a Google Easter egg, and then a name that creators everywhere wanted to use. If you'd like the full backstory, here's where the phrase came from.

The Do a Barrel Roll Minecraft Mod
If you searched "do a barrel roll mod," you're probably looking for this one. It's a fan-made mod for Minecraft: Java Edition, and it has nothing to do with spinning your browser.
What the Mod Does
The mod changes how elytra flight feels. Instead of the standard gliding controls, it lets you roll, bank, and steer more like a real aircraft. Players use it for smoother flying, sharper turns, and, yes, actual barrel rolls through the sky. Features and settings can change from version to version, so the project page is the best place to see what the current release includes.
How to Get It Safely
- Use official sources only. Download from the mod's official project page on Modrinth ↗ or CurseForge ↗.
- Check the author. Make sure the creator's name matches the original project.
- Match your setup. Pick the file that fits your Minecraft version and mod loader.
- Install any required files. The project page lists any extra libraries or dependencies the mod needs.
- Back up your worlds. Save a copy before adding any new mod, just in case.
Avoid these: Skip reupload sites, "free download" mirrors, and links shared in random comment sections. They can carry outdated, broken, or harmful files.
Need Help With the Mod? We don't make or support this mod. For bug reports, setup questions, or feature requests, use the support links on the official project page. The mod's creator and community are the best people to help.
